With six months training time left for Great East Run participants, EACH has announced it will grant 10 places for the popular event.
The charity is holding a ballot to determine who will take the half marathon opportunities in their name.
This year’s Simplyhealth Great East Run is being held on Sunday, 16 September and will see 3,500 people covering a 13.1-mile course.
The route starts at Russell Road and takes in the town centre, waterfront and Shotley Peninsula.
Natasha Brame, EACH Suffolk Community Fundraiser, said: “We know how popular an event this is, with almost half of entries having been snapped up in just two days, and are really excited to be able to offer 10 places in the run.
“Successful applicants will be asked to pay a £10 registration fee and then fundraise a minimum £300. All the money raised will help us continue caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and supporting their families.”
Staff at EACH’s Treehouse hospice in Ipswich provide their specialist care and support to 120 children and young people, as well as 120 family members.
