Colleagues ‘Brave the Shave’ for Cancer

Two colleagues from ABP Ipswich’s engineering team, have shaved their heads to raise £1,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mark Smith and James Drury opted to take part in the charity’s “Brave the Shave” challenge.

Staged in Ipswich’s historic Old Customs House, the challenge event saw ABP’s Dave Coleman, another member of the engineering team, assume the role of hairdresser.

By participating in the “Brave the Shave” campaign, they joined more than 11,000 others who parted with their hair to raise over 3 million pounds for people living with cancer in 2017.

Paul Ager, ABP Divisional Port Manager East Coast, said: “At ABP we are committed to supporting the communities surrounding our ports, whether it is through environmental initiatives to clean up local beaches, such as our Tidy Friday campaign or by raising funds for charities.

“We are proud that our colleagues volunteered to take part in this challenge and that they were able to raise a significant amount for a worthy cause.”
