Fundraising Concert Contributes to Church Appeal

A church restoration appeal has received a welcome boost, following a fundraising concert.

St Botolph’s Church in Colchester is in urgent need of repair works, which are likely to cost in the region of £170,000.

The ongoing effort was aided recently, with an evening of performances by The St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir and Swing Express Big Band.

The event was organised by the Rotary Club of Colchester Forum and sponsored by Hunnaball Family Funeral Group.

Melanie Hunnaball, of Hunnaball Family Funeral Directors, said: “We were delighted to be able to support the Colchester Rotary Forum in its efforts to raise money for St Botolph’s Church.   It is always important to us to be involved in local charity events, having been part of the community in Colchester for many years.”

She added: “The displays of musical excellence on the night was amazing from both Swing Express and the St Edmundsbury Male Choir and we send our congratulations to all of the musicians and organisers of the event in their final push towards their fundraising target.”
