A Norfolk charity is set to see a pre-Christmas boost, thanks to an East of England legal firm.
Birketts LLP has put forward several teams from its offices across the region, to take part in a ‘Walking Home for Christmas’ initiative, organised by Walking With the Wounded.
The charity event will see Sam Greenhalgh, Paul Palik and Karl Pocock from the company embarking on a walk from Kingfisher House office in Norwich, all the way to Wymondham. Their effort, on 14 December, will be followed by other walks involving more groups of employees.
Walking Home for Christmas raises funds to help reintegrate homeless and other vulnerable veterans into society, and lead an independent life through employment.
Paul Palik, Senior Associate at Birketts, said: “We are looking forward to Walking Home For Christmas for the third year running.
“Not only is it a worthy cause but it’s also great for team building and a rewarding way to spend time with colleagues outside of the office.”
He added: “Each year we try and go a slightly longer route and have found that our feet don’t hurt as much knowing that the funds raised will help the most disadvantaged ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen move closer to having a home next Christmas.”
Walking With The Wounded Events and Partnerships Manager Andy Sloan, commented: “Birketts has shown outstanding support for our wounded ex-servicemen and women over the last few years and to have all four offices involved in our Christmas campaign this year is fantastic.
“Thank you to everyone taking part at Birketts and we look forward to hearing how it goes and seeing some fun photos!”
