Homelessness charities and projects around the region have entered the year with a welcome boost, thanks to The One Broker Group.
In an effort to make a positive impact in the festive lead-up, staff at the East Anglian firm committed to collect food supplies, distribute boxes and donate time to wrapping special gifts for families in need.
It was the second year The One Broker Group has given time and effort to collating goods for local food banks.
Staff from Gibbs Denley Insurance Services and NWBIB, both located in Cambridge, also volunteered to wrap Christmas presents for victims of homelessness who are supported by local charity, Winter Comfort.
Norwich employees, meanwhile, donated a morning packing Christmas hampers filled with sweets and treats for underprivileged families in Norfolk as part of the Norwich Basket Brigade.
The month was topped off with a collection for Save the Children as part of the charities Christmas Jumper Day on the 15th of December. Staff wore their festive pullovers with pride and raised £65 in support of children’s rights and relief around the world.
Pauline Brunning, from GDIS’ Insurer Accounts team, said: “It’s been very rewarding to help our local homeless charities this winter.
“A highlight for me was the morning I spent at Winter Comfort in Cambridge, seeing first-hand the amazing work the charity performs in supporting vulnerable people living on the streets.”
