Strictly… an Inspiring way to Fundraise

Strictly… an Inspiring way to Fundraise

As Britain gets ready for the next season of Strictly Come Dancing to return to our televisions it could be your turn to foxtrot, tango and rumba.

East Anglian charity Inspire Suffolk has announced the date of its next Strictly Charity fundraiser, and is urging companies to come forward as sponsors and individuals as dancers.

The dance-themed event held this summer in Ipswich achieved an impressive total of over £10,000 for the popular cause, and now you have the chance to get involved in the 2018 version – on Saturday 21st July.

Crystal Barber, Fundraising & Events Officer at Inspire Suffolk said: “We are delighted to have announced the date for our Strictly Charity 2018 event, and can’t wait to get things going.

“We were overwhelmed with the support we received for our Strictly Charity event this year. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make it such a success.

“What we need now is to hear from any company or business owner who thinks they could offer some level of support or sponsorship. We’re appealing to the business community to get behind this and help us beat this year’s fundraising total.”

The event sees 10 people, who have little or no previous dance experience, volunteer themselves for the challenge to learn to dance with support from teachers and semi-professionals from Ipswich School of Dancing.

It culminates in a grand finale at Trinity Park in Ipswich. Each dancer fundraises for the charity during their training, and they perform one latin and one ballroom dance routine to a crowd of friends, family and charity supporters at the final event.

Emma Hawley, from Ipswich School of Dancing, added: “We are extremely proud of what our dancers have achieved along with their partners in this short time. There has been so much enthusiasm, fun and new friendships made and all while raising funds for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you everyone, we can’t wait until our 2018 event!”

The charity event is in its fourth year and is hosted by Inspire Suffolk, which supports young people achieving a positive future and overcoming challenges.
