Suffolk Wildlife Trust has received a cheque for £830, as part of a corporate pledge by Penn Commercial.
Vanessa Penn of Penn Commercial said: “We are delighted to be supporting Suffolk Wildlife Trust as our charity partner. We love the work that the Trust does in caring for our beautiful county.
“At the beginning of last year we pledged to donate £10 for every transaction we carried out. 2017 was an excellent year for us, and we’re delighted to be able to make a contribution to the Trust’s very worthwhile work.”
The money is destined to support the Suffolk Broads Appeal. The Trust has been given the opportunity to buy and restore a large acreage of land for wildlife in the Broads National Park. The 385 acres link three nature reserves that are home to some of the UK’s rarest wildlife.
The Trust is aiming to raise £1million in this, its largest ever nature reserve purchase, with money raised tripled by other funding, including the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Michael Strand said: “We are delighted to receive this donation from Penn Commercial towards the creation of a new 1000-acre nature reserve in the Broads National Park here in Suffolk.
“Thanks to your support and the match funding we have in place, we will now add £2500 worth of land to benefit wildlife and people forever.”
